Great idea for creatives who are scared stiff of business plans, pie charts and spreadsheets. That’s me! You?
Accidental Creative is a book/podcast that I, well accidentally stumbled upon, by searching for one topic I saw another cross referenced podcast. Creative accidents like this are part of the ‘aha’ effect of online exploration which makes such semi-structured meanderings very productive - just make sure you capture those connections and bring it into the creative fold of your life. This is what this book is about…on the Amazon wishlist baby! Watch this space for a review.
@the99percent [tips]

When you get swipped from the side or knocked for six - you need a back-up plan to see your projects through to the next stage. At the very least you keep momentum and catch your breadth. It’s ok to recuperate - your mind and body require it. Now take that break, your gonna need all the energy for when you can finally sprint for that deadline!
This GTD inspired website (www.organizeit.co.uk) has got some great articles on the Getting Things Done productivity culture that has embedded itself into the modern knowledge worker culture.
The article linked here is a typical one and caught my eye as it directly tackles misconceptions that GTD is just for mundane widget-cranking productivity freaks. Not so! This framework has the ingredients to set up creatives to really leverage their talents, get the jobs done and free their wandering minds to capture the next bolt of creative energy that’s buzzing around… (their head/their scene/part of their world - highlight source of next big creative thing).
Postscript: seems this site is not current - but what remains is good stuff.
Late

Says it all as far as far as the production of great ideas goes in my book. Get your head out of the book and place it in a cloud once and a while and magical things happen

Make a packing list in Evernote
Be sure you bring everything you need along for your trip with a packing list of items. You can even check them off as you add them to your suitcase.
Sometimes I look in awe at talent around but then again I think they started somewhere,and so we can all. This article is great primer to stop being phased by the self doubting Thomas within and just do it.
Mindmapping for visual creatives is a must in my opinion. It losens up the creative block and gives you options you were not aware of…try it. Graphic Designers should check this post and see if they can intergrate it into their design process.
